Visakhapatnam: The Atheist Society of India expressed shock that the country is dealing not only with voter theft but also theft in temple donations.
Demanding disclosure of the income and expenses of Ram temple in Ayodhya to devotees, Atheist Society of India, Vizianagaram general secretary Bankuru Jogi Naidu, along with other members, staged a protest in the district.
Jogi Naidu stated that devotees have every right to know the exact accounting details regarding the donations they contributed.
He welcomed the appointment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to inquire into the allegations made against the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
The protesters urged the Central government to include two more senior judges from High Court in the three-member special investigation team and to conduct a transparent inquiry into the irregularities in misusing devotees’ donations.
