ECE HoD bags first prize at national semiconductor programme

Visakhapatnam: Satya Institute of Technology and Management (SITAM), Vizianagaram successfully completed ‘Crest for Chip Forge 2026’, a two-week residential training programme.
Conducted jointly by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Centre for Research Excellence in Semiconductor Technologies (CREST), BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, it was organised under the leadership of T Damodhar Naidu, head of the department of electronics and communication engineering (ECE) of the institution.
Also, Damodhar Naidu brought laurels to the institution by securing the first prize in the group presentation competition held during the CREST Summer School – ‘Silicon to Systems’, organised by CREST, BITS Pilani. The award was presented in recognition of his team’s exceptional teamwork, innovation and presentation excellence during the programme, which concluded recently.
The intensive residential programme aimed at strengthening India’s semiconductor talent pipeline by providing participants with hands-on training, expert mentorship, advanced laboratory exposure and interaction with leading researchers and industry experts in semiconductor technologies.
Congratulating Damodhar Naidu on his remarkable achievement, the institution’s director Majji Sashibhushana Rao and Principal DV Ramamurthy appreciated his outstanding performance and dedication to continuous professional development. “The institution consistently encourages its faculty members to participate in prestigious national and international faculty development programmes, certification courses and industry-oriented training,” Sashibhushana Rao said.
Continuous faculty upskilling enables the institution to provide students with the latest technological knowledge, promote innovation, strengthen the research culture and enhance graduate employability, he stated, adding that the institution continues to strengthen its academic ecosystem by empowering faculty with emerging technologies and industry collaborations.
