Visakhapatnam: TDP state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao launched an advanced command center in Visakhapatnam on Monday, on the eve of ‘World Heart Day’.
The facility at Apollo Hospitals integrates a smart ambulance network, tele-ECG services connecting over 15-plus peripheral nursing homes, enhanced connected care with connected devices, comprehensive telemedicine, and an airport medical center connection designed to deliver timely, technology-enabled specialist care. The smart ambulance network enables specialists to receive ECGs, vital signs and relevant clinical information while patients are in transit.
The centre was inaugurated in the presence of Dr Krishna Prasad, COO of the hospital along with senior consultants, including doctors Baruah, Panigrahi, Trivedi, T Raviraju, I Satish Raju, nurses, emergency teams and technology partners. Also, an AI-based cardiac risk score was introduced to assess an individual’s 10-year risk of cardiovascular disease as low, moderate or high based on age, lifestyle habits, family history and health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity.
