MoU exchanged with govt to recycle one MT at industrial waste
Visakhapatnam: As part of recycling one million tonnes of industrial waste annually and converting it into valuable resources, a memorandum of understanding was signed at the first AP Regional Investment Conference 2026 held in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.
Organised as a run-up to the 31st CII Partnership Summit 2026 scheduled next month, the MoU was signed with the Government of Andhra Pradesh by VeeCycle Works. The recycling project will be initiated at a cost of Rs.150 crore.
In line with this, VeeCycle Works, a Sona Group venture, focuses on converting industrial waste into valuable resources. Built around the idea ‘from residue to resilience’, VeeCycle Works aims to recycle one million tonnes of industrial and plastic waste annually to help reduce the burden on landfills and contribute to strengthening India’s circular economy.
During the conference, Sona Group vice chairman Chocko Valliappa signed the MoU in the presence of Minister of Industries and Commerce TG Bharat and Minister for Roads and Buildings, Infrastructure and Investment BC Janardhan Reddy.
“Waste is only a resource we haven’t yet learned to use. VeeCycle Works exists to turn residue into resilience, for industry, for communities and for the environment. We are grateful to the Government of AP for its partnership and vision,” said Chocko Valliappa.
Sagili Shan Mohan, CEO of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB), signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of AP.
The company will establish advanced waste-to-resource facilities in Visakhapatnam, creating 60 jobs.
