Visakhapatnam: A workshop on first-person view (FPV) drone piloting was inaugurated at Sri Sivani College of Engineering (Autonomous), Chilakapalem, Etcherla Mandal, Srikakulam. Aimed at providing students with practical, industry-oriented exposure to drone technology and FPV piloting, encouraging innovation, technical competency, and career opportunities in the rapidly emerging field of unmanned aerial systems, the workshop was organised by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), in association with Egire Robotics, Pune.

Inaugurating it, Etcherla MLA Nadukuditi Eswara Rao, who attended as chief guest, highlighted the growing importance of drone technology in the modern era and stated that drone technology is increasingly used in several sectors, including agriculture, defence, surveying, photography and disaster management. He further emphasised that such hands-on workshops provide students with practical exposure, enhance their technical skills and create opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship in emerging technologies.

The programme was attended by VMM Sainath Reddy, Kanugula Durga Srinivas, and Duppala Venkata Rao, members of the college management, Y. Srinivasa Rao, Principal, GT Chandra Sekhar, Vice Principal, Maheswaram Bhanuchandhar, workshop faculty coordinator, coordinated the workshop and facilitated the practical sessions.
