BRS backs students’ protest at Warangal Polytechnic

WARANGAL: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has extended its support to the students protesting against the implementation of GO No. 97 at Warangal Polytechnic College.

The students are demanding that the government withdraw the proposal to bring the college under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and should not treat students as workers.

The students have been staging a series of protests and hunger strikes to press for their demands. Against this backdrop, former Warangal MLA and BRS leader Nannapuneni Narendar visited the hunger strike camp on Friday.

He interacted with the students and enquired about their concerns. Later, he announced his complete support for their agitation.

Speaking on the occasion, Narendar said he would remain available to the students at any time to help them secure their legitimate demands. He said he was prepared to undertake any kind of struggle to protect their future.

“There is no question of compromising on the future of students. We will stand by them in securing their legitimate demands. The BRS will always remain on the side of students,” Narendar assured.

The students demanded that the government clarify its position on the implementation of GO 97, the PPP model and the proposal to treat students as workers. They said they would continue their agitation until their problems were resolved.
