Konda Surekha inaugurates Navaratri festivities at Kanaka Durga temple
Warangal: Former minister and Warangal East MLA Konda Surekha inaugurated the Sri Devi Sharan Navaratri festivities at the Sri Kanaka Durga temple on Narsampet Road on Sunday by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Temple priests welcomed her with a traditional poornakumbham and drum beats. She offered special prayers, seeking adequate funds for Telangana and the well-being and prosperity of its people.
Surekha highlighted the cultural significance of Bathukamma, describing it as a symbol of Telangana’s traditions and nature worship.
She said the festival would be celebrated with grandeur in Warangal.
She noted that the goddess would be worshipped in different forms during the ten-day Navaratri festivities, with devotees participating in special pujas and spiritual programmes. She expressed hope that the festival would bring happiness, hope and prosperity to all. The programme was organised under the leadership of temple committee president Meesala Prakash.
Congress leaders, former corporators, temple committee members, devotees and Bhavani Swamis attended the event.
