Painful to see Gandhi’s killer Godse being glorified: Naini

Hanumakonda: Warangal West MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy called on everyone to work to achieve the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, who spread truth, non-violence, peace and unity in the world.
He said that Gandhiji’s struggle and sacrifices for the country’s independence are memorable. However, added, “it is painful to see that Gandhi’s killer Godse is presented as greater than Gandhi on social media and YouTube platforms.”
On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 157th birth anniversary, MLAs Naini Rajender Reddy and KR Nagaraju participated in a programme organised by District Congress president Inagala Venkatram Reddy at the Hanumakonda District Congress Party office.
On this occasion, they garlanded the portraits of Gandhiji and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. Later, the MLAs along with District Collectors Chahat Bajpai and Satya Sharada garlanded the statue of Gandhiji in the Public Gardens and paid homage.
Naini said that Gandhiji brought the people of the country together by showing the paths of truth, non-violence, peace and unity. He instilled in the people the belief that any goal can be achieved if all the people are united. He said that the struggle and sacrifices made by Gandhiji in the freedom movement have remained forever in the hearts of the people of India.
