Why is completed Collectorate building not being inaugurated

WARANGAL: BJP State leader and Warangal Urban Cooperative Bank chairman Errabelli Pradeep Rao questioned the government and the local MLA over the delay in inaugurating the newly constructed Warangal district Collectorate building.

He demanded that the Collectorate be inaugurated immediately and all district-level government offices be made available in Warangal.

BJP leaders and workers led by Pradeep Rao conducted a rally from the City Camp Office to the new Warangal district Collectorate, highlighting development works and public issues in the Warangal East Assembly constituency. Later, they staged an innovative protest by smashing ash gourds and performing ‘dishti’ (evil-eye removal) in front of the Collectorate.

Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Rao asked why the completed Collectorate building had not yet been inaugurated. He questioned why people were still being forced to travel to Hanamkonda for government-related work, despite Warangal being the district headquarters.

People were facing difficulties as they did not know the locations of various department offices and had to move around Hanamkonda to submit their grievances, he said.

“If you are concerned about who should get which post in the family, who should become an MLC and who should become an MLA, take as many posts as you want. You may even take the Chief Minister’s post. But what justice are you doing to the people of Warangal East who elected you?” Pradeep Rao asked.

He said elected representatives should remain accessible to the people and spend at least 20 days a month in the constituency to hear and resolve their problems.

“When in power, you want positions. But when it is time to resolve people’s problems, why are you not available to them?” he asked. He warned that the BJP would lay siege to the camp offices in the coming days if the situation continued.

Pradeep Rao also demanded that the minister explain what had been done for the people despite holding the ministerial post. He said the absence of a Kakatiya Keerthi Thoranam in front of the new Collectorate, constructed in Warangal—the historic capital of the Kakatiya dynasty—had hurt the sentiments of the people.

“Politics should not be done for posts; leaders should work for the people. Come closer to the people of Warangal East, inaugurate the completed Collectorate immediately and stop forcing people to travel to Hanamkonda,” he said, questioning the government and the local MLA.
