Mumbai was on high alert on Friday after a threatening email was sent out, warning of bomb attacks in the city on several places, such as bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow Jalsa, the Bombay High Court, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the Worli Racecourse.

Mumbai Police has initiated an investigation after receiving the threat email from the Bombay High Court. Security agencies have also been notified, and an attempt is being made to identify who sent it and verify the authenticity of the threat.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Home Among Locations Targeted

The email reportedly named four locations in Mumbai, including Bachchan’s residence, Jalsa. The other sites mentioned were the Bombay High Court, BSE and Worli Racecourse.

This is the second recent threat in which the veteran actor’s name has surfaced. On October 22, a threatening email sent to a Mumbai school also mentioned Bachchan. Authorities had clarified at the time that the actor had not received any direct threat.

Following the earlier incident, Bachchan’s customary Sunday appearance outside Jalsa saw an unusual security arrangement. The actor greeted fans from behind a protective glass shield, with his son Abhishek Bachchan standing beside him.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association had appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help, pointing out the safety concerns of the film personalities and their families.

Recent Threats Raise Concerns Over Celebrity Safety

The latest bomb threat comes amid growing concerns over security incidents involving Bollywood celebrities.

On October 18, firing was reported at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly claimed responsibility for the incident.

Earlier this week, actors Tusshar Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana also received threatening messages allegedly sent in the name of the Bishnoi gang.

In connection with those threats, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested a 30-year-old Bengaluru-based IT engineer on Wednesday. Preliminary investigations reportedly found no evidence linking him to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Police are continuing to examine the authenticity of the threat messages and investigate the latest email targeting prominent locations in Mumbai.

Always love to raise the unraised matter. In a world of worries, I am always ready to come over my comfort zone and taking the step ahead of spreading awareness.
