Mysuru MP Yaduveer Inaugrated Three-Day Community Health Camp in Mysuru Reaches 950+ Beneficiaries

Mysuru: Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd.’s three-day community health camp in Mysuru concluded with an encouraging response, with more than 950 people availing themselves of preventive health screenings and medical consultations. The camp was organised at Star Health’s Saraswathipuram office in association with Narayana Health, Vasan Eye Care and Avant BKG Hospital.

The camp was inaugurated by Shri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Member of Parliament for Mysuru–Kodagu, who also visited the facilities and interacted with participants.

Speaking about the initiative, Shri Yaduveer Wadiyar said, “In India, we have always followed the philosophy that prevention is better than cure. This programme, organised by Star Health Insurance is rooted in that very philosophy. Health camps like this offer immense benefits to the public in a city like Mysuru. Star Health Insurance operates in a sector that is essential to every individual. Since we cannot predict the health issues we may face, it is important that citizens have adequate health insurance coverage.”

Emphasising the importance of health protection, he added, “Every citizen should insure themselves and contribute to the nation. Insurance provides a safety net that supports people during times of distress, and we should recognise the importance of this system. Viksit Bharat is the vision of our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji, and it cannot be achieved unless our people lead healthy lives. We want citizens to have not only strong financial security but also good health. I hope to see many more initiatives like this in the future.”

During the three-day camp, 331 individuals, or approximately 34% of those screened, were advised additional medical intervention, highlighting the significance of preventive health screenings and early detection. Among the key findings, 41 participants were identified as requiring cataract-related medical intervention, while 49 were given cardiac referrals. A significant number of women above the age of 45 were also found to have concerns related to bone density.

Those identified with health concerns were provided medical advice and guidance on appropriate follow-up care. The camp offered residents access to a range of diagnostic screenings and specialist consultations under one roof, reinforcing the importance of identifying potential health concerns before they become more serious.
