NSUI to File FIR Against Delhi Police, Alleges Brutality
NSUI president, along with those who were allegedly beaten up by the police, would be going to Parliament Street Police station to file an FIR against the police personnel who according to the NSUI activists had beaten them.
It is being said that if the Police officials do not register an FIR, the LoP Rahul Gandhi is likely to go to the Police Station and sit on dharna as he did in August when he sat on a day-long dharna in support of Sahl Lochab, who allegedly suffered pellet injuries during the Jantar Mantar students protest demanding resignation of education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
It may be recalled that Rahul Gandhi at a media conference praised the NSUI activist Barala as “Sherni” and said they would produce the video evidence of police brutality against her and action would be taken against the erring officials once they come to power. Barala alleged that she was beaten ten times on each foot and that, because of that, her feet have now turned blue.
The LoP showed another girl, Athira from Kerala said that she had lost hearing in one ear following the injuries she suffered at the hands of the police, affecting her ability to hear in one ear.
