New Delhi: A schoolboy in Rajasthan has landed in Delhi Police net as he was allegedly found involved in posting of obscene posts about a Delhi-based woman after uploading her pictures, a senior police officer said on Wednesday.
The woman, a resident of Greater Kailash in south Delhi, had filed a police complaint after which it wrote to the Instagram authorities to share the relevant information about an account. Police investigation revealed the alleged involvement of the 17-year-old boy from Chittorgarh.
"The account details given by the social media platform revealed that the Instagram account was operated from Rajasthan. We zeroed in on the accused with the help of technical tools and evidence," DCP (South Delhi) Atul Thakur said.
A police team then went to Chittorgarh and apprehended the JCL (juvenile in conflict with law) on Tuesday. A mobile phone and SIM card used in the crime was seized from him.
"The juvenile is a Class 12 student in Nimbahera. He is in the habit of creating fake social media profiles and desperate to attract followers. He used to send obscene messages and remarks through these fake profiles also if someone objected to his actions on the social media," the officer added.
