Skill development programmes for educated tribal youth is being taken up at the Youth Training Centre at Maredumlii in agency area from Tuesday. The programme, under the aegis of ITDA and Vikasa, the nodal agency of East Godavari administration, will cater to the needs of organisations, after identification of their workforce needs.
Skill development programmes for educated tribal youth is being taken up at the Youth Training Centre at Maredumlii in agency area from Tuesday. The programme, under the aegis of ITDA and Vikasa, the nodal agency of East Godavari administration, will cater to the needs of organisations, after identification of their workforce needs.
Vikasa will extend logistics support and facilitate the training in the form of provision of accommodation, boarding to both the trainees and the faculty of the companies which selects the workforce. The identified youth including women with various qualifications right from SSC, Intermediate, technical, ITI, graduation, B. Tech and with allied qualifications, will be imparted skills by various companies.
This programme was necessitated after the companies and organisations found mismatching skills in the work force they had selected earlier. The companies which will take up the training programme are Karvy Management Services Ltd, Vertex, BSCPL, Tech Mahindra among others.
Apart from the seven existing mandals in the district, youth from the newly amalgamated Chintoor, VR Puram, Kunavaram, and Nellipaka mandals from Bhadrachalam division have also been selected for this programme. Vikasa project director VN Rao said that these placements and skill development programmes are confined to the 11 agency mandals of East Godavari. This is a continuous programme among tribal youth to cater to the employment needs of various oogranisatioms in AP and elsewhere.
