In a minor upset, sixth seeded Saumya Ronde defeated her fourth seeded Telangana State opponent Malishka K in straight sets to enter the girls singles semifinals of theVasishta Open AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament 2017 for Under-12 Boys and Girls, being organised by Vasishta Tennis Academy in their Carnival Club courts at Sainikpuri on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, unseeded Andhra Pradesh player Gunnidhi Bhima prevented an all-Telangana boys quarterfinal line-up.
