260 kg ganja seized; 4 held

Khammam: The district police recovered 260 kgs of ganja during routine vehicle check-up at Sri Sri Circle in the town on Sunday and arrested four persons belonging to different places in this regard.

Accodring to DSP Balakishan, the ganja, packed in 26 polythene bags, was being transported in an Indigo car (AP 23 W 6228) when police seized the vehicle. The contraband was being transported from Sukuma in Chhattisgarh State to Hyderabad. The value of the recovered ganja is about Rs 15 lakhs.
The arrested persons are identified as Veeranna of Thanamcherla village of Maripeda mandal, Nagireddy Upender Reddy of Nutankal mandal headquarters in Nalgonda district, Palasi Ramreddy and Bhim Reddy of Y Ramavaram village of East Godavari district. Four cell phones and the car which was used for transportation of ganja were also recovered from the arrested persons.
