Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said that the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities was the result of the lopsided agriculture policies adopted by the Congress-led UPA under the leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Reacting to the claims made by the Prime Minister at a press conference in New Delhi on Friday, Naidu said if the country had made great strides in agriculture then the prices of all essential commodities would have been under control. Alleging that the Prime Minister had become a puppet in the hands of Congress high command, Naidu said, “Manmohan Singh is not in a position to take any decision on his own. The country is riddled with corruption under Singh’s dispensation.
The rupee value has also fallen to an all time low. The PM’s body language and his mute spectator image also tarnished the image of the country across the globe.” Naidu said if voted to power the TDP would review all the policies of the Congress government and would try to recover the money the Congress leaders in the State swindled.
Referring to the claims of TRS president K Chandhrasekhar Rao, he said it would not be possible to get a profit of Rs one crore per acre through horticulture and it needed to be probed if KCR was earning money from other sources in the guise of farming.
Replying to a question, he stated that he was happy to know that the media was propagating that he would be contesting for Lok Sabha seat in the coming elections. However, he did not elaborate on it.
