Hyderabad: Claiming that he has been supporting the cause of separate Telangana State since 1973, Union Minister for Science and Technology S Jaipal Reddy stated that he would reveal the details of his efforts in his autobiography to be penned soon. He said he will also explain how some Seemandhra Congress leaders changed their stand of being separatists in 1970s to that of pro-united Andhra Pradesh now.

The Union Minister made was addressing a function got up to release the 2014 diary and calendar of TNGOs at Osmania Medical College on Thursday.

“Andhra Pradesh is a failed experiment from which Centre should learn the lesson that it should not perform any more ‘forced marriages’ in future,’’ he stated. Denouncing the tactics of Seemandhra leaders since the State bifurcation decision was announced, the Union Minister sought to know what they did right from 2004 when the national party expressed its support to Telangana statehood by entering into alliance with TRS. He was highly critical of YSR Congress Party’s demand to amend Article-3, which according to the minister was nothing but disrespecting the architects of the Constitution. Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha sought to know whether sentiments of people of the State included wishes and aspirations of people of Telangana. TRS MP G Vivek, BJP leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Prof Kodandaram, Mallepalli Lakshmaiah besides TNGOs president G Devi Prasad and secretary K Ravinder Reddy also spoke on this occasion.
