Hyderabad: While the Seemandhra leaders close to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy claim that he would resign once the T Bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana was not ready to buy the argument and said that Kiran would not resign from his post. Talking to the media in the Assembly lobbies, Botcha said, “I don't think Kiran Reddy is such a leader who will resign from his post at this juncture as it would only amount to running away from his responsibility of leading the party in the ensuing polls. Moreover, what purpose would it serve to stop the T-process if he resigns now?” He said the situation would have been different had Kiran and his team quit soon after the CWC’s decision to divide the State.
He also alleged that leaders belonging to one particular social class in Seemandhra hatched a conspiracy to divide the State only to destroy the Congress in the State. He, however, refused to name that particular social class, which he was referring to.
Meanwhile, political circles expressed doubts over Kiran’s new party if he quits. Botcha said that if Kiran finally decided to launch a new party under pressure from his peers, it would not be of any use. However, some political observers felt that it was part of the protracted drama being enacted in Hyderabad and Delhi at the behest of the Congress high command. They claim that on one hand the Congress had expelled six MPs only to satisfy the BJP which had been insisting that the ruling party should set its House in order before tabling the Telangana Bill. The observers pointed out that CM has been facilitating everything on behalf of the Congress party while creating a larger than life image for him through brave words with tacit approval of the party high command. The next move of CM and his colleagues in the party would depend on the convenience of the Congress high command, averred the observers. Even the decision on new political party would be in tune with the overall game plan of the high command, they said.
