Kakinada: The unexpected rains not only have worst affected the farmers, but also the EVMs. The rain water entered the strong room located in the premises of JNTU at Kaiknada in East Godavari district. According to sources, the EVMs belonging to Prattipadu Constituency have been affected by the water. The local officials informed the same to Nitu Prasad, the collector of the East Godavari district. She rushed the spot to examine the EVMs.

The candidates who contested the polls were dejected over the matter. All the EVMs pertaining to the constituencies in East Godavari district have been persevered in JNTU campus only. Nevertheless, it was only the EVMs pertaining to the Prattipadu constituency that got affected due to the rains. More details are awaited.
