Hyderabad: The Pratyush Sinha panel overseeing distribution of All India Service (AIS) officers between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states will be meeting in New Delhi on Monday, perhaps for the last time, to discuss the division. Chief Secretaries of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, IYR Krishna Rao and Rajiv Sharma respectively, will attend the meeting.
The provisional list of IAS, IPS and IFS officers for both states was released on August 22 after which a week’s time was given to the officials to air their grievances. Following the feedback, a meeting was held on September 2.
The committee which examined the grievances decided that there would be no changes in the list and that if any officer had any grievance he could approach the Department of personnel and Training.
According to sources, however some senior IAS officers like Vinay Kumar (1983 batch) have a strong case for a re-look into their case. Vinay Kumar had earlier worked with former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy in the undivided state and later went to the Centre on deputation. He has been allotted to Andhra Pradesh though he opted for Telangana. If the committee effects a change in his allocation, it will lead to modification in allocations of at least two to four of his batch mates.
After taking a final call on such cases, the panel will submit its report to the Prime Minister. Once he gives his nod, the DoPT would release the final list. It is understood that these formalities are likely to be completed within ten days..
