Plastic covers worth Rs. 20 lakh seized

Kadapa: Municipal employees led by Mayor Suresh Babu on Monday raided a godown at BKM Street in the city and seized plastic covers worth Rs 20 lakh. Speaking to the media, the Mayor told the public to go for alternative methods as ban on the usage of plastic covers is still effective in Kadapa Municipal Corporation limits. The underground water levels have dropped due to polluted environment and one has to go at least 1,000 ft deep to get water, he added.

Suresh suggested that the public should know the importance of environment and stop usage of plastic covers. Along with the Mayor, MLA Amzad and others participated in the raids.
