Kadapa: Protesting against removing the statue of legendary king Tipu Sultan, Muslim youth and several political leaders took out a rally from Almaspet to the Collectorate here on Tuesday. They staged a protest and submitted a memorandum to DRO Sulochana.

Unidentified persons installed Tipu Sultan statue at Almaspet Centre recently. The Municipal officials and police removed the statue on Monday night as the statue was installed without permission. MLA Amzad Basha, who supported the protest, said that he was not aware of who installed the statue. But it was not proper to remove the statue after installation, he added and requested the officials to give a clarity in this issue immediately.

TDP leader Subhan Basha, YSRCP leader Afzal Khan, INTUC leader Sattar and Muslim youth and other communities also participated in the rally in large numbers.
