Ongole: Transport Commissioner (TC) Anantaramu has been appointed as inquiry officer to probe the Penukonda RTC bus accident in which 15 were killed and 44 others were injured. The dead included eleven poor students from SC and ST communities. Transport Minister Siddha Raghava Rao informed the media here on Friday that the government had asked Anantaramu has been given 15 days time to submit the report.
Based on the report, the Minister said, action would be taken against those responsible for the bus mishap, including the RTC and R&B officials if it required. The Minister said that the Madakasira RTC depot manager, R&B deputy executive engineer and assistant EE have been suspended holding them responsible for the accident. The government would take strong action against those responsible to prevent recurrence of such mishaps, he said.
