AP Govt plans swine flu testing centres in Vijayawada, Vizag

Peddapuram (East Godavari): The state government will establish swine flu testing centres at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and other important towns, keeping in view of the necessity , said N Chinarajappa, Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He inaugurated the mega medical camp organised under the aegis of GSL Medical College, Rajanagaram at Kakinada Institute of Engineering Technology in Divili village in Peddapuram mandal on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dy CM said that as of now the swine flu centre was located in Hyderabad only.The recent cabinet meeting decided to establish centres in Vijayawada ,Visakhapatnam and other places in the state of Andhra Pradesh .He further said that wide publicity was planned in the state for better awareness among the people on this disease and requested the public to take precautions to protect from this disease.

The minister said that to encourage better sanitation in the district the government was promoting individual sanitary latrine concept by providing Rs 12,000 for unit. Chairman of the Institute, B Srinivasa Rao, presiding over the occasion, said that specialists from eight departments were extending medical care to the poor of Divili and surrounding villages .Later the minister inaugurated RO plant for safe drinking water supply at Tirupathi village

Tabs to councillors

The Peddapuram municipality in east Godavari District, has decided to acquire technical know-how and impart the same to the councillors through tabs, first of its kind in the state In this connection, Deputy CM of AP, N Chinarajappa has distributed tabs to all 28 councillors in Peddapuram municipality at a function held on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM said that the state was moving towards attaining smart AP and requested the people’s representatives to adopt the new methods of science and technology in the day-to-day administration He said that necessary training would be given to the councillors on usage of tabs.

He further said that the centenary celebrations of Peddapuram municipality would be held during the month of March and proposals were sent to state and centre for provision of drinking water scheme worth Rs 100 crores in the municipality. Raja Suri Babu Raju ,Chairman and A Venkat Rao commissioner presented Kalajatha on welfare schemes.

Deputy Chief Minister, N Chinarajappa flagged off three Kalajatha vehicles to propagate welfare and developmental programmes at Bhimeswara temple Samalkota on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that state government is implementing many new programmes for the welfare and development of the state.

Earlier District collector H Arun Kumar verified the performances of the Kalajatha team at Samalkota and suggested them to create better awareness among public on smart villages,wards and sanitation and hygiene. District PRO M Francis said that three vehicles were allotted to district to cover nearly 240 villages soon.
