Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said over 700 MBBS and 386 BDS seats in private medical colleges would be filled with the qualifying candidates in the MCET examination.

Vijayawada: Minister for Health and Medical Education Kamineni Srinivas released MCET AC 2015 results for admission into B category seats in private medical colleges in the State at Dr NTR University of Health Sciences here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said over 700 MBBS and 386 BDS seats in private medical colleges would be filled with the qualifying candidates in the MCET examination.


He said the number of seats in some colleges may be increased with the clearance of Medical Council of India by July 15. He said that the NTR University of Health Sciences conducted the online entrance examination in May following the direction from Supreme Court to fill the B category seats in private medical colleges.


The Minister said by conducting the entrance examination for the first time to fill the B category seats, merit students secured an opportunity to get admission in private medical colleges. He said over 35 per cent of medical seats will be filled by the entrance examination conducted in a transparent manner.

He said the ranks would be announced after merging 25 per cent weightage marks based on Intermediate marks. The Minister clarified that the students should pay the prescribed fee in the form of DD to the university and they need not pay extra fee at private medical colleges.
