Protect and be protected

Krishna University PG Centre Director MV Basaveswara Rao has said that people's participation in environmental protection alone will bring the desired results. Participating as a chief guest in a seminar on `Environmental Protection - Lifestyle’ organised by the Paryavarana Parirakshana Vedika in the city on Thursday, he said, ``You can have any number of legislations in this regard, but the implementation of the laws is done by the locals.

Campaigns on climate change and environmental issues will yield good results when only all of us come together to protect the Mother Earth. Nature and the mankind are inseparable. Pollution, energy and climate change are related issues. It is important for we people to understand the harmful consequences of climate change as it will have an impact on the surface temperature, sea level and vegetation. We have to protect the environment for our own survival.”
