The campus of the PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College turned into a beautiful countryside and was decorated with colorful flower rangolis, drapes all over to set the festival mood. The Telugu auspicious and one of the major festivals, Sankranti was celebrated on a grand scale on the campus here on Saturday.
Vijayawada: The campus of the PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College turned into a beautiful countryside and was decorated with colorful flower rangolis, drapes all over to set the festival mood. The Telugu auspicious and one of the major festivals, Sankranti was celebrated on a grand scale on the campus here on Saturday.
The Women Empowerment cell of the college made sure that they utilised the opportunity of festival bliss to bring together girls of all departments to dwell in the celebrations. Competitions were organised for girls in traditional dressing, rangoli and kite flying activities. Bommala Koluvu, a mandate for the festival is set up at the administrative block on the campus and a special ritual of playing Gobbemmalu attracted the onlookers.
Girls danced around and cheered for one another ushering in the festive mode. College principal M V N Padma Rao congratulated the Women Cell Department for coming out with such programme that defines unity and culture. He gave away prizes to the winners in various categories.
