The buses will be operated to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Adoni, Dhone, Yemmiganur, Thernekallu, the depot manager said. Krishnamurthy disclosed that Rs 150 crore has been sanctioned for filling 17 tanks. He would lay the foundation for Pandikona reservoir, costing Rs 3.75 crore, after four days. The Deputy CM stated that the horticulture sector would get a boost if water ponds and canals were dug.

The water bodies will give scope for taking up fisheries. He revealed that three roads have been sanctioned for Pattikonda with NABARD funds. The work would be launched shortly. Addressing the gathering, Collector Ch Vijaymohan said public transport and business transactions would get a boost following operation of bus services from Pattikonda.

He conceded that there was serious water shortage in Pattikonda. Steps have been taken to arrange 24-hour water supply throughout the year to the poor by filling 1-2 tmcft in Pandikona reservoir. Vijaymohan disclosed that the government would soon launch a model line system enabling 1.24 crore families of NREGS workers to secure water by opening their taps, so that they don’t lose work opportunity.

Later, the Deputy CM inaugurated Chandranna 104 vehicle in the mandal parishad office along with the Collector Vijaymohan. Krishnamurthy laid the foundation for NTR Housing Scheme at Ramakrishnanagar in Pattikonda and launched distribution of butter milk to NREGS workers involved in digging of farm ponds on the outskirts of the town.

He inaugurated two bore wells costing Rs 1 lakh at Rampalli village in Thuggali mandal. When local residents represented that the damaged old pipeline be replaced, the Deputy CM instructed the RWS officials to act on it. He assured that all steps would be taken to avoid any hardship to people from securing drinking water.
