Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana made an appeal to officials to improve growth in the district in the next three years keeping in view of low per capita income of the State.
He participated in Nava Nirmana Deeksha programme here on Thursday in the city and said the State government has been struggling with a deficit of Rs 16,000 crore after bifurcation and the Chief Minister is focusing on overall progress of the State for making it number one in the country.
The truncated state has 5 crore population and its per capita income is 47 per cent.
He stated that the TDP government is constructing State’s capital to accommodate one crore population with all amenities.
District Collector M Janaki said that they would review the progress of the district for the last two years and take stringent measures for more concrete growth.
She said they had achieved good yield this year due to good rains lashed last year.
She appealed to officials to work hard for achieving goal of the State government.
City Mayor SK Abdul Aziz said they would implement all welfare programmes effectively reaching all deprived for their economic growth.
They had planned for welfare activity and developmental programmes in city for making it a smart one with the support of the state government. The Collector said that the underground drainage project would be taken up in the city with Rs 1,100 crore for more convenience of the city population, he explained.
District SP Vishal Gunni said they would maintain law and order as envisaged in the vision document of the State government along with taking up service activity.
Officials and others have organised pledge at 11 am and they took out a huge rally from Collectorate to Gandhi Statue.
Joint Collector A Md Imtiyaz, Additional Joint Collector R Salmon Rajkumar, DRO M Sudarshan Reddy, former MLA MSK Reddy, hospital development trust chairman Ch Narasimha Rao, former municipal chairperson T Anuradha, former legislator T Ramesh Reddy, corporators of various divisions, officials and others were present.
As part of Nava Nirmana Deeksha, officials would conduct a debate on Friday at Kasturba Kalakshetram on repercussions of unscientific bifurcation of State involving experts in various fields. The programme starts at 9 am.
