Speaking to the media, Bose claimed that the TDP leadership has no moral right to hit out at Jagan as it was known for its culture of throwing slippers even at its founder-president N T Rama Rao. The MLC alleged that many farmers, who have not been given the benefit of loan waiver were facing severe hardship for failing to secure fresh credit.

Pithapuram: Former Minister and YSRCP member of the Legislative Council Pilli Subash Chandra Bose on Sunday sought to justify his party president Y S Jagamohan Reddy’s controversial remarks against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, contending that ‘people were ready to throw slippers at the government representatives for TDP’s failure to honour poll promises’.

He said during the kharif season, the government had failed to waive loans of farmers. Bose claimed that even the DWCRA women were angry at the government for its failure to waive their loans.

East Godavari district YSRCP president Kannababu pointed out that Naidu was seeking to create a needless controversy over Jagan’s comments to divert public attention. For this reason, he recalled that a woman during the recent Mahanadu had brandished a slipper at Naidu.

Kannababu alleged that the Chief Minister was misleading the people as he had failed to secure assurances and funds from the Centre and allotted a Rajya Sabha seat to the BJP amid threats of breaking the TDP-BJP alliance.

Former Pithapuram MLA Pendem Dorababu was present at the press conference. Earlier, the YSRCP leaders consoled the families who are affected by Jaggayya Cheruvu demolition. They held discussions with tahsildar B Suguna urging her to sanction house sites for all the eligible, who are affected by demolition drive.
