Pithapuram: Local Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader and municipal contractor Chekkupalli Venkata Ramana (52) was killed on Saturday in a road accident near the Boys High School in Gollaprolu.
He succumbed to injuries at local government hospital after the traffic police shifted him. The mishap occurred when his motorcycle was hit by a van, while he was coming to Pithapuram from Gollaprolu. The Gollaprolu police are investigating. Venkata Ramana is survived by wife and two children.
