This is the only zoo park in Andhra Pradesh which has Chimpanzees for which the zoo curator B Vijaya Kumar has put in lot of efforts to get them. He, along with zoo doctor Srinivasa Rao and others received the containers carrying the chimpanzees and released them into the specially arranged enclosures after conducting necessary medical tests. It may be recalled that The Hans India has already highlighted that three chimpanzees will be coming to the zoo from Israel in May itself.
