Narsapuram: Dr. CS Rao PG Centre of Sri YN College here organised ‘Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme’ for MBA and MCA students in the PG Seminar Hall on the college campus on Wednesday Dr N Chinta Rao, Director, PG Courses, presiding over the programme, asked the students to preserve the good image of Sri YN College as ragging-free campus while noting that there had been not a single incident of ragging on the campus.

Children with no concern for the sentiments of parents and other family members are committing some mistakes like ragging. Parents should keep a watch on their wards to prevent such behavioural patterns among youth.

Also, students should imbibe values of discipline, sincerity and commitment towards their studies and morals to become a useful citizen of the country,” the CI said and warned that those who resort to acts of ragging face the risk of ruining their careers.

He asked the students to respect their co-students whether they are juniors or seniors, science or arts, and support them in their efforts to develop their knowledge and personality on the campus.

Senior students should be a role model to junior students and guide their in regard to their career, he added. Prof. D Venkateswara Rao, Director, Gandhian Studies Centre, spoke on the content of ragging Act and nature of punishments.Later, the students were administered an anti-ragging pledge. Director of PG courses and other faculty members felicitated the chief guest.

Dr. R Pardhasaradhi, head of MBA department welcomed the guests and PW Syam Babu, head of MCA proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Ch Srinivas, MBA faculty, faculty members PDVN Kumar, Chakravarthi, Kiran Varma, Lakshmi, Sravanthi, A.Ramana, Samuel Mores, Madhuri, Sita Smitha and MBA and MCA students participated in the programme.
