Young Chef competition was held for students of catering technology at Siddhartha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology in the city on Wednesday as part of the Youth Festival of Rotary Club of Vijayawada Midtown. Contestants prepared a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Hotel DV Manor chief chef Brijesh Thakur was a judge for the competition.

Students of Roots Institute of Hotel Management, Asian Institute of Hotel Management and Siddhartha Institute of Hotel Management stood first, second and third respectively in the competition. Prizes were distributed to the winners. Siddhartha Institute of Hotel Management principal K Chandrasekhar, Rotary Youth Services chairman Ch Prasad, directors Y Parthasarathi, Mansoor Ahmed and P Shivasankar Yadav, club president T Kishan Babu, secretary M Krishna Prabhu and others were present.
