​Kadapa: Two women working in a located at busy 7 Road Junction in Kadapa survived with injuries as the kitchen collapsed, here on Friday.
According to the police the incident occurred around 1.20 pm, when the duo were working in the kitchen, when the roof collapsed with the inmates stranded in the debris. It took half-an-hour for police and fire officials to rescue the women from the debris.
The injured duo were rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), where the doctors pronounced their condition as stable.
The injured were identified as A Choudamma (45) and V.Parvathi (50), residents of the town. The building was more than 50 years old and part from that laying of pillars adjacent to the building was believed to be the reason for the collapse. A case has been registered.
