No question of taking nod for ‘padayatra, declares Kapu JAC
Kakinada: The Andhra Pradesh Kapu Joint Action Committee (JAC) convener Vasireddy Yesu Dasu has downplayed the home minister’s assertion that prior permission will have to be taken for the ensuing six-day ‘padayatra’ that will commence from Jan 25-30.

There is no need to obtain consent from the government for the upcoming padayatra, he declared. Both the late YSR and Chandrababu Naidu never took permission when they conducted padayatra, he pointed out.
The Kapu JAC seeks to take out a padayatra from ‘Ravulapalem to Antheridia’ in East Godavari, covering a distance of about 60 kilometers, to highlight the government’s insensitivity to implementing ‘Kapu quota’.
The Kapu JAC feels that the TDP lacks seriousness to honor the poll promises given to Kapu community.
Most recently, the leader of opposition Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in a rally that was conducted from Ravulapalem to Polavaram demanding the speedy execution of the irrigation project.
The AP Deputy CM, N. Chinarajappa on Thursday, citing the Supreme Court’s directives to the State, made it clear that permission is essential before conducting any rallies or padayatras.
