Krishna ZPP to construct new meeting hall

Vijayawada: The State government has approved the construction of new meeting hall for Krishna Zilla Praja Parishad (ZPP) at a cost of Rs 1.08 crore in place of auditorium located on the premises of Zilla Praja Parishad office in Machilipatnam.

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development principal secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy issued the GO for the construction of new meeting hall on Tuesday.

Krishna Zilla Praja Parishad passed a resolution for the construction of new meeting hall in place of auditorium on February 22 last year and the same proposals were sent to the government.

After careful examination, the government approved the said proposals for the construction of new meeting hall in Machilipatnam ZPP premises.

The ZPP engineering department will spend Rs.1.08 crore for the construction of new meeting hall and designed it with 250 seating capacity.

The present meeting hall had 150 seats which are not sufficient for MLAs, ZPTCs, MPPs and district level officers.

The Zilla Praja Parishad meeting unanimously passed a resolution for the construction of new meeting hall. The estimated cost will meet from Zilla Praja Parishad general fund.

The State government accorded administrative sanction for the construction of new meeting hall.
