TDP leader, 8 others arrested
Eluru rural police arrested a TDP leader and eight others on the charges of criminal conspiracy to eliminate Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar. Reddy Appalanaidu, former sarpanch of Venkatapuram and TDP spokesperson for Eluru constituency was arrested and was taken to special mobile court judge.

Reddy Appalanaidu, former sarpanch of Venkatapuram and TDP spokesperson for Eluru constituency was arrested and was taken to special mobile court judge.

Addressing a media conference at his camp office, Eluru DSP Gogula Venkateswara Rao said that Reddy Appalanaidu with vengeance has planned to eliminate Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Jujjivarapu Jayaraju - a rowdy sheeter from Eluru and Pamarti Madhu - a realtor.
The former sarpanch engaged eight members to implement the plan. Rambarki Purandhar an associate of Appalanaidu, Yarlagaddda Durga Rao (Nakkala Pandu), Sheikh Yacoob, Sheikh Latif, Shaik Nagoor, Bantiprolu Harish Kumar, Betha Ratna Kumar, Gunnabathula Suresh have conducted a recce on MLA several times for the last three days. The gang gathered at route that leads to a garden in Somavarappadu village in Dendululru mandal in April.
However, as the MLA did not turn to the garden on that day, he was saved. They left the place and returned to Eluru. Again they plotted to eliminate Chintamaneni in a garden in Denduluru but failed the second time as well.The former sarpanch paid Rs1 5 lakh to the gang to purchase knives and other weapons. Jayaraj was on the hit list as he was creating hurdles to Appalanaidu in doing settlements. Pamarti Madhu was a rival of Rambarki Purandhar and he was on the list as well.
Acting on a tip off, police took Nakkala Pandu and Nagoor into their custody. On interrogation, they the kill Chintamaneni Prabhakar and based on the information police arrested all the accused. As Appalanaidu was hamali workers union leader, police suspected that there might be tension in the town with the hamali workers. As expected, hamali workers took out rallies and dharnas along with Appalanaidu’s wife Anuradha.
Meanwhile, the main accused Reddy Appalanaidu told reporters after his arrest that the police hatched a conspiracy and implicated in the case. “Who do not fear police lathi. I am innocent. I am no way concern with the case,” he asserted.
Later, TDP leaders of Denduluru constituency demanded the party high command to expel Reddy Appalanaidu from the party as he planned to eliminate their MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar.
