Vijayawada: Denizens bored of visiting Punnami Ghat for boating and recreation will have one more destination to get entertainment and relaxation. The district administration is developing Pavitra Sangamam as a tourist hub by signing an MoU with a private water sports company.

The company is arranging high speed boats, floating restaurant, beautiful chairs and tables on the banks of Krishna river. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation is operating boating for many years at Punnami Ghat. Now, the recreation facilities will be extended to Ibrahimpatnam mandal also with the development of infrastructure in Pavitra Sangamam which is the confluence of Krishna and Godavari rivers.

District Collector B Lakshmikantham on Thursday inspected the new high speed boats and infrastructure being developed at Pavitrasangamam on the banks of Krishna river. These development works were taken up after signing an MoU with a private water sports company to promote tourism and develop water sports in Krishna river.

Candle light dinner and aquarium will be additional attractions at Pavitra Sangamam. Pavitra Sangamam junction is well connected by four lane highway from Vijayawada city and just 20 minutes’ drive in car. The State government is also planning to construct mega bridge in Ibrahimpatnam to connect the mandal to the new capital Amaravati at a cost of Rs 800 crore.
