Gangavaram Port Limited distributes sewing machines
As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, the Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL) distributed training certificates and sewing machines to 50 women from Gangavaram village who have already underwent training in sewing machine programme. Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivas distributed sewing machines to the women, along with certificates.
Visakhapatnam: As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, the Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL) distributed training certificates and sewing machines to 50 women from Gangavaram village who have already underwent training in sewing machine programme. Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivas distributed sewing machines to the women, along with certificates.
GPL provided training in sewing machine operation for 309 women in six batches who were from rehabilitated villages so far. The purpose of providing training and distribution of sewing machines is to support women empowerment and promoting their participation in all areas and sectors to build stronger economies, improve their quality of life and bring gender equality. The training is provided by the reputed institute IL and FS.
Senior Vice-President of GPL K Rajaratnam Naidu presided over the meeting. Vice-President L Ramu Naidu, Assistant Vice- President M Gopal Rao and Deputy General Manager SVR Prasad were present.
