Eluru: Police have seized two lorries that carrying 15 cattle at mini bypass road here on Saturday and arrested two lorry drivers.
According to police, two lorry drivers of Tamil Nadu have bundled 15 buffaloes at Santha Market in Epuru village of Hanuman Junction this morning and transporting them to Gudiwakalanka in Kolleru area.
On tip-off, Traffic SI Ravi Kumar stopped these lorries at mini bypass road at a school. He informed the matter to Three-town Sub Inspector S Pydibabu. The SI and his personnel reached the spot and seized the cattle with lorries and shifted to police station. Lorry drivers Perumalla Tangaraju, NagaratnamRaja from Dundigal of Tamil Nadu were arrested by police.
SI said that a case under cruelty against the Animals Act was registered. The cattle have been handed over to Gosamrakshana Samiti in Eluru.
