The thieves decamped with the booty of around Rs. 80 lakhs looted from the house of Amanchi Seethaiah on the night of Thursday. Seethaiah is the brother of MLA from Chirala, Amanchi Krishnamohan and is in Hyderabad with family members for the last two days.
Chirala: The thieves decamped with the booty of around Rs. 80 lakhs looted from the house of Amanchi Seethaiah on the night of Thursday. Seethaiah is the brother of MLA from Chirala, Amanchi Krishnamohan and is in Hyderabad with family members for the last two days.
According to the Chirala DSP Prem Kajal, the police received a complaint from the brother-in-law of Seethaiah about the house breaking. He complained that, gold ornaments of 250 sovereigns, silver articles of nearly 25 kgs and Rs 16 lakhs cash were missing. The main door was break open with sharp objects and called for the forensic team for search of clues.
The thieves are rampant in Prakasam district for the past one week and involved in about 10 house and shop breakings and looted nearly Rs. 4 crores worth of gold jewelry, silver articles and cash. The police advise the public to utilise the Locked House Monitoring Service (LHMS) introduced by them.
Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu, SP of Prakasam district said, ``We request the public to register for the LHMS and let install it while going out of town. When we know that there is no one at the house, the patrolling team will visit the place in regular intervals. The LHMS service is available in Ongole, Chirala and will be introduced in other towns,” he said.
