Vijayawada: District collector B Lakshmikantham on Saturday said that proposals will be sent to the State government for allotment of plots in the CRDA limits to the farmers, who give 27 acres land for the development of airport and for the diversion of Eluru canal.
The collector on Saturday convened a meeting with the officials of revenue, CRDA, rural water supply, Transco, R and B and AirportsAuthority of India and discussed the progress of development works. Union civil aviation minister P Ashok Gajapati Raju also participated in the meeting.
The collector said he would send a proposal to the government for the allotment of plots to farmers in CRDA limits. He said if the government takes plots from ventures, the plot owners will get land in their respective villages. The collector reviewed progress of road works, runway works and maintenance of sanitation in airport.
He asked the officials to take measures to prevent use of laser lights in nearby areas of airport and prevent flying of birds. He suggested for use of dustbins for throwing waste food in restaurants and hotels in the premises of airport.He also enquired about the progress of Gannavaram-Manikonda 1.5 km R and B road and announced the bridge construction works on Eluru road would be completed by April.
