Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU) students have climbed the varsity main gate arch on Saturday to express their 24-day protest with the demand of upgrading of rural veterinary health centres. Standing on top of the arch, university students staged a dharna in front of varsity main gate for some time.
Later, they climbed the arch and from there students raised the slogans against the state government. They alleged that the Animal Husbandry department did not react to their demand.
Protesting students pointed out why the government was delaying to take necessary steps to upgrade the rural veterinary centres with veterinary assistant civil surgeons. In the agitation, BVSC students Dr Mahendra, Avinash, Bhaskar, Vasundhara, Chandrakala and
others were present.
