Seed access roads before polls
The State government is keen to complete the seed access road before the forthcoming elections though some sections of farmers are reluctant to give their lands and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is opposing to the land acquisition plans
Vijayawada: The State government is keen to complete the seed access road before the forthcoming elections though some sections of farmers are reluctant to give their lands and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is opposing to the land acquisition plans.
The seed access road is the main entry to Amaravati capital city and the state government wants to complete the road by acquiring land from farmers. In fact, the state government should have completed the road almost six months ago.
It started the six-lane seed access road works almost two years ago. The Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) and Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) decided to provide six lane road as (with provision of upgrading it to eight-lane).
The road is divided into two phases from Undavalli to Dondapadu and Undavalli to Kanaka Durga Varadhi. In the first phase, the State government started works to complete 18 km stretch from Undavalli to Dondapadu village. Already the 14 km stretch has been completed so far from Venkatapalem to Dondapadu.
The culvert works are also progressing at brisk pace. But the road works from Venkatapalem to Undavalli were stopped in the midway as some section of farmers did not give their consent for land pooling scheme of state government.
Moreover, the leaders of YSR Congress approached the courts opposing land acquisition. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan visited the capital location and opposed the land acquisition.
According to new Land Acquisition Act, the government has provision to acquire required land for road formation without the consent of land owners.
Already the capital construction works including the IAS and the MLA quarters are progressing at brisk pace. The works would be completed by December.
The construction works were launched for ministers’ quarters, chief secretary and higher officials.The administrative building works also will be started from September. In this backdrop, the state government wants to complete the seed access road to Amaravati at any cost.
CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sridhar said that they would complete the road soon. The required land would be taken from the farmers, he said and added that other road works also would be completed by December this year.
