Bajaj Auto has announced the booking window of its new executive commuter motorcycle, the ‘V’, from March 10 till 20. Delivery of the bike will take place on March 23. Thereafter, delivery shall depend on availability.

The ‘V’ contains metal from India’s first and most celebrated aircraft carrier, the erstwhile INS Vikrant. The company has confirmed that all those customers who book by the 20th are assured of owning a piece of history on the March 23, immortalised by a commemorative insignia on the fuel tank assembly.

Customers will also get a welcome kit containing an official certificate of ownership and a V memorabilia key chain. The ‘V’ has received an overwhelming initial response with more than 20,000 customers expressing interest in the ‘V’ on the company’s website.

The final price for the ‘V’ has also been announced. The company had earlier indicated that it would be priced between Rs.60,000 to 70,000. The final price at Rs 62,399 ex-showroom Andhra Pradesh and Rs 62,310 ex-showroom Telangana would expand the executive segment.

Commenting on the launch of the ‘V’ in Hyderabad, Eric Vas, President (Motorcycle Business) said, “The ‘V’is designed and manufactured to be invincible. The bike exudes solidity and epitomizes the invincible INS Vikrant whose metal it contains.”

Commenting on the price he said, “The Bajaj ‘V’ has drawn unprecedented interest and enquiries from every part of the country. We hope thatcustomers from every walk of lifeshall own this invincible bike and a part of Indian military history.

At a price of Rs 62,399 ex-showroom Andhra Pradesh and Rs 62,310 ex-showroom Telangana the ‘V’ is an attractive upgrade for customers looking at 100cc and 125cc executive bikes.”

Speaking on the regional plans for the new brand, Aswin Jaikanth, GM (Motorcycle Sales-South), said, “Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are major markets for executive commuter bikes.

The Bajaj ‘V’ stands above the existing products in the market and is a bike that a customer can ride with his chest out and head held high. Bajaj plans to make significant gain in market share with the ‘V’.”
