Now, there seems to be an anti-climax. We hear that Balaji Productions head Ekta Kapoor claims right to the movie saying the film is based on a Japanese book by the name 'The devotion of the suspect X' by Keigo Higashino for which she holds the movie making rights. This claim has created a controversy and the director of the original Jeethu Joseph has rubbished reports that he has received any legal notice. He told a Malayalam TV Channel that such rumours were only to halt the production of the Hindi remake which is on cards.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is gearing up to shoot for the Tamil remake of the movie. The Japanese novel was made into a movie titled Suspect X and also a South Korean movie titled Perfect Number which hit theatres two years ago.

Check out the trailers of the South Korean movie as well as that released in Kannada and Tamil.
