Satya Kasyap, who composed music for ‘Ice Cream 2’, says he missed out an opportunity to compose for Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rakhta Charithra’ earlier.”He did like a couple of my compositions, but somehow I lost contact with him,” recalls Satya, who has a diploma in Hindustani music from Hyderabad Music College.

However, he is happy that he has finally got an opportunity to collaborate with the master story teller for ‘Ice Cream 2’. He recalls the conversation that led him to be a part of the film, “My cinematographer friend mentioned about me to Ramu garu during ‘Rakhta Charithra’ days.

He suddenly gave me a call one day and I couldn’t recognise whether it was him since I was listening to music using head phones. He called me and said, ‘Nenu Ramunu matladuthunna’. I was like, ‘Ae Ramu?’ He was silent for few seconds until I realised that it was him.”

He continues, “He later narrated the concept of the film on the phone itself and wanted me to come up with a number on the title. I’ve composed two versions – classical and house (style) - he preferred the latter.”

Besides composing for other films like ‘7 Love Stories’, ‘Nuthilo Kappalu’, Kasyap has also given renditions to Jana Sena (Pawa Kalyan’s party) theme song. However, he couldn’t get a chance to bump into Pawan. “On the day the theme song was unveiled, he was addressing a meeting at Visakapatnam,” says the Srikakulam native, who has bagged Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh’s next.
