Speaking at the felicitation function, stage artiste Vemula Nageswara Sarma said, “The veteran actress started her career as a folk singer in All India Radio at a young age. Later she gained popularity for playing the character of Nayakuralu Nagamma in Palnati Yuddham and Sri Krishna in Kurukshetram dramas.

She also played the roles of Sri Rama, Chintamani and many more during her career. She was honoured with the prestigious Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Theatre Art Award by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2004.” The veteran actress thanked the Raavi Nancharaiah Trust for recognising her contribution to cinema and stage. She rendered two verses from Kurukshetram drama on the occasion. Later, Gayopakhyanam, Satya Harischandra and Bhakta Vijayam verse dramas were staged. Organising committee members Raavi Venkateswara Rao, Abdul Rehman and others also spoke.
